Everyone reads

Shared reading experiences build community, connections, and a culture of reading.  This summer’s recommended reads are as followed:

6th grade: The Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus or The Bridge Home

7th grade: The Benefits of Being an Octopus or Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora 

8th grade: The Stars Beneath our Feet or New Kid 

Students should plan to read at least one book from this list above and 3-5 additional books.

 

When we return in the fall, there will be a roundtable activity focused on One Theme, Many Books, where students and staff will participate in activities and discussions that revolve around the themes and topics in the books.
